We invite you to explore our events calendar, featuring a range of family-friendly activities and events to enjoy on weekends and throughout the week. We continually update our events calendar, so there's always something new and exciting to do! 



The Wizard of Oz on Friday, June 27 at Dusk



Join us as we demonstrate and explore historic cooking and foodways! We’ll be using the recently restored 1739 Trimble House Kitchen, as well as the reconstructed Bake Oven behind the Miller’s House, to experiment with a variety of ingredients, techniques, and “receipts” (recipes).  Each program will have a different theme – this season, we’re exploring topics related to the ongoing archaeological excavations around the Trimble House complex in coordination with our Public Archaeology program!



Newlin Grist Mill and Wild Birds Unlimited (Glen Mills) have teamed up to explore the wonderful world of bird life! Join us for monthly naturalist-led walks through the 160-acre park at Newlin Grist Mill. We will meet year-round residents, visit exciting migrants, and learn the basics of bird identification and biology. Families and beginners are welcome for these free bird walks! A limited number of binoculars are available for use, but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Participants should meet in front of the Visitor Center.


Wawa is sponsoring two weeks of free museum days across the city. Enjoy free admission to the best museums in the Philadelphia area.



Free concerts in Rose Tree Park's scenic outdoor amphitheater have been a popular Delco tradition for more than four decades! Take in top-notch entertainment of all kinds, from Classical to Cajun, Motown to Broadway, Doo Wop to Rock & Pop, tribute shows, and everything in between.
Showtime is 7:30 PM on Wednesday through Sunday evenings unless otherwise noted.


Our regularly scheduled weekly train. Enjoy a relaxing 90 minute train ride from West Chester to Glen Mills and return. Pack a lunch to have during our stop at the Glen Mills train station picnic grove, where you can explore our picnic area, our 1880s station building, or the Red Brick Winery.




Children of all ages are welcome to sit and listen, ask questions, doodle, draw, paste, and color to their heart's content. (Accompanying adults are also welcome to get involved!)

2025 Fireworks and 4th of July Celebrations in Delaware County and the Philadelphia Area

Below is a list of parades, events, and fireworks in the Delaware County area. Don't forget the Wawa Welcome America celebration in Philadelphia that includes a parade on July 4th, concerts, and outdoor movies. Click here for the calendar of events in Philadelphia.

Wednesday, July 2nd

FREE Independence Day Fireworks!
Upper Darby will host a free fireworks display at 9pm/dusk at 69th Street Recreation Area. This is free and open to all.


Thursday, July 3rd

Aston 
Independence Day Celebration will be on July 4th, behind Sun Valley High School.  Fireworks begin around 9:30pm.

The Bethel Township Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting its Annual Fireworks display on July 3rd at Bethel Springs Elementary School. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the event and are reminded that no alcoholic beverages or smoking are permitted. The display is set to begin at dusk. Rain date 7/5.

Friday, July 4th

The parade starts at 10 am, and fireworks on July 4th at 9:30.


Join us for our 4th of July parade, moonbounces, face painting, food, music, and other activities for the whole family. We will also have the brand new Glenolden Golden Golf pop-up mini golf course, which supports local independent businesses and organizations. 

Come out and watch the parade on July 4th, starting at 10 AM. The parade starts at St. Alban's Circle in Newtown Square and travels down West Chester Pike to the Broomall Fire Company.


10 AM – 12 PM @ Barrall Field
The Media Recreation Board's 4th of July Celebration at Barrall Field is a longstanding tradition in Media Borough! From 10 AM to 12PM, there will be Water slides, face painting, wagon rides, a bike-decorating contest, yard games, music, and treats!

The parade begins at 10am at the Rosemont Business Campus and will follow the previously used route through our community.


Thornbury Township
Thornbury will hold its Annual Fourth of July Parade on July 4th. The parade will take place along Glen Mills Road to Thornbury Park. There will be refreshments and games at the park. Formation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and the Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.


Celebrate America’s birthday with everyone’s favorite furry friends. Visit Photos with Elmo & Friends to take a patriotic photo with Elmo in his red, white & blue attire! On Monday, be sure to stick around for an impressive display of fireworks!

Fireworks will begin at 9:00PM.


Saturday, July 5th

Celebrate the nation's birthday at the farm! Join the debate between Patriots, Loyalists, and Quakers as they all confront independence and help decide the true loyalty of the farm. Meet Martha Washington, make a demonstration against the king, hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and show your loyalty by signing the Declaration. Ongoing activities at the farm include hearth cooking, quill writing, gardening, textiles, meeting the animals, and more!

Celebrate Independence Day with a parade, car show, and games.
Later in the day, join us for the best fireworks in DELCO! Starting at Dusk at Eastlake Park.

We celebrate Father’s Day at Orchard Lake, where fathers fish free (with paid child’s admission).



Did you know that colonial people experimented with science every day? From cooking, to getting water from the well, to dyeing their clothes, every day was Science Day. Join us on the farm for 18th century science fun– discover how baking is like chemistry, use simple machines to perform chores, learn about our animals, and more!


5K Duck Dash: 9am, Family Fun Festival: 10am-1pm, Duck Races start at 10:30am

Help support healthy waterways in our community! Held in partnership with Concord Township, this event is a fundraiser to help raise money for watershed protection projects, including controlling erosion along the streambanks, monitoring water quality, and restoring riparian buffers at Newlin Grist Mill.


This Friday evening, June 13, is our Free Outdoor Family Movie night on the front lawn of the Ridley Township Municipal Building. This year, we are showing Moana 2 The movie will begin promptly at 8:30 p.m., so come early and find a good spot. Celebrate the end of the school year with a free night out with the family. Water bottles and snacks are free while supplies last. 



Who doesn't love food...better yet, from food trucks!  We are partnering with local food trucks to bring you these food-tastic events at Linvilla! Along with delicious treats from the trucks, make sure you grab a beer in the Beer Garden!  The atmosphere will be filled with music and fun for the whole family! You won't want to miss it!
Not only will we have a great selection of trucks, your family can enjoy all the fun Linvilla has to offer by going on a hayride*, a train ride* get your faces painted, and the kids can even go on a pony ride!  We look forward to you joining us for a fun-filled day!

Miss Brooke's music class offers a warm and engaging experience for your child, filled with singing, shakers, drums, puppets, parachute, bubbles and more!



Linvilla Orchard's Strawberry Festival takes place annually at the beginning of June during the peak of the local Strawberry Season. We will have live music, food, and fun all day long!



Swimming, DJ, Dancing, and a Snack Bar are available. The pool closes at 9, the event ends at 9:30.



Join us on Saturday, June 7th, for an outdoor movie night. We will be playing the 1991 film, The Parent Trap!  Enjoy FREE admission, glow sticks,  and popcorn. You can also purchase candy and soda from the snack table. (BYO blanket, chairs, and bug spray.)



The lineup for the 7th Annual Havertown Irish Festival Main Stage is set. The Kelly Center for Music, Arts, and Community in Havertown. In addition to live music and Irish dancers, the event will feature a Crafter Village showcasing handmade crafts by over 50 artisans and crafters, as well as food trucks, a beer garden, and a children’s Fun Zone. Admission is FREE.

The Bethel Fire Company will be holding our annual carnival beginning Tuesday night May 20th through Saturday night May 24th. Carnival hours will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening at 3220 Foulk Road (corner of Foulk Road & Bethel Road), Garnet Valley, PA 19060. Come enjoy rides, food, and games. Proceeds benefit our all-volunteer fire department.




Come out for this historic ceremony and parade in its 144th year. Start gathering at the monument around 10:00 am – 10:30 am.
The parade will begin staging around 10:30 in front of Rockdale Art Center (Ahearns Market) 2551 Mount Rd Aston, for an approximate 11:15am parade.

The Veterans Legacy Project and Media Borough are in charge of organizing the annual Memorial Day Parade.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. every Memorial Day at Barrall Field, located at the intersection of State and Edgmont Streets. It progresses along State Street, turning right onto Orange Street, and ending at the Courthouse for a short ceremony to honor those who gave their lives to protect us.



Head to Swarthmore for fireworks, food trucks and entertainment



Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at Sesame Place! Don’t miss photos with Elmo dressed in festive red, white, and blue all weekend at Photos with Elmo & Friends.  Then, take in our spectacular “C is for Celebrate” fireworks display!  Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count, as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance. Be sure to watch us paint the sky red (and green and blue) from inside the park. This impressive display will certainly give you something to celebrate this Memorial Day!



Take a walk, or drive-thru option to see the beauty, smell the fragrance & bring a camera. We will be selling cut flowers at the gate.
