Hedgerow Theatre performs children's theatre year-found, every Saturday morning. Currently playing is Mr. Toad and Company, a family musical based on Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows (and written by a Philadelphia composer Frumi Cohen), which continues Saturdays at 11 a.m. through Nov. 22 at Hedgerow Theater. This hour-long family musical tells the whirlwind adventures of the frivolous Mr. Toad, and his friends, Badger, Rat and Mole. The show features the newest Hedgerow ensemble members.
Starting Nov. 1-29 at 1:30 p.m., Cinderella's Princess Birthday Party adds to the fun, giving children the chance to come dressed to appear onstage during the show. The show, created by Penelope Reed (Hedgerow's [producing artistic director) tells of Cinderella's birthday party - a party to be attended by other princesses and prince from many kingdoms who travel with their fairy godmothers to attend the fun. The hour-long show includes time for the children in the audience to join the party onstage (parents bring cameras). Many children come dressed to attend Cinderella's party.
