Round up your young scientists for Hagley’s Invention Convention on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, January 17, 18, and 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Invention Convention encourages children to think scientifically and develop skills such as observation, problem solving, reason, critical thinking, and creativity. Join Hagley for the first event in our 2009 Year of Science. Event admission, including supplies, is $3.50 per child and $5 per adult. Use Hagley’s Buck Road East entrance off of Route 100.
Experience a day or weekend of hands-on fun and science-related activities at Hagley’s Invention Convention. Children can build their own inventions and apply for a Hagley patent, safely take apart household electronics, watch a science show presented by real-world scientists, and explore how simple machines can enhance human power at Hagley’s exhibit “Easy Does It!.” Visit http://www.hagley.org/ for a complete list of activities.
Hagley Education Coordinator Briana Flinchbaugh describes the event as an opportunity to “ignite the spark of creativity that motivates great scientists and inventors. We hope kids will come away from the Invention Convention with a new sense of scientific curiosity that will stay with them throughout their lives.”
This event is sponsored, in part, by Fish & Richardson PC.
Hagley Museum and Library collects, preserves, and interprets the unfolding history of American enterprise. For more information, call (302) 658-2400 weekdays or visit http://www.hagley.org/.
