Day Trip to Lancaster

We are excited to add a new feature to Fun Things, we are going to feature Day Trips for families, if you have any ideas for fun family trip please share. Enjoy!

On Saturday my husband and I were trying to plan something to do with the kids, we wanted to do something different. My husband has always wanted to try Miller's Smorgasbord in Lancaster, but it's always so crowded. Since it was early in the afternoon we thought we could eat before it got to crowded. We called and made reservations and also found a coupon online to save $3 on each adult meal. We packed up the girls and started on our Saturday adventure, the girls loved when we started to see the Amish.
We got to Millers and there was no wait, we ordered drinks and our waitress come over and explained our choices on the smorgasbord, my hubby and I ordered the traditional that has appetizers, salad bar, meats and desert. My kindergartner got the kids buffet and my 3 year old was free! The smorgasbord had a lot to choice from, they had shrimp, seafood bisque, vegetarian vegetable soup, broccoli salad ,pasta salad, Caesar salad and a make your own salad bar. For entrees they had top sirloin, turkey, baked ham, fried chicken, chicken pot pie and much more. Everything was so yummy, but I had to save room for there homemade deserts, they kids were eyeing them up from the time we walked in, they had cheesecakes, ice cream every kind of pie you could imagine, cookies and brownies. We were so stuffed when we left. but we had a yummy meal!
We went to the outlets after our yummy meal, but there are many other things your family can do check out this site for ideas: Kids' Activities In Lancaster County
