The Media Arts Council (MAC) Second Saturday Arts Stroll this month will take place in Media on June 13, 6-9pm, and will coincide with the 9th Annual State Street Blues Stroll, providing an energetic presentation of music, art and entertainment.
The Main Event this month is Catfish Hodge, a blues band performing songs from their award-winning children’s album “Catfish Pond”. This Virginia-based band has been entertaining audiences of all ages for more than three decades and has 24 albums to their credit. This is a free blues event starting at 6:15pm at Plum Street Mall. This event is co-sponsored by Media Arts Council and Media Business Authority.
The featured artist this month is Rebecca Michelle Lee, presenting “Please Don’t Kick Me…” photographs of natural mushrooms from the artist's National Wildlife Foundation Certified Backyard Habitat at her Media home. Her work will be on display in the MAC Window Gallery at the First Keystone Bank.
Dance studio Tango 411 is joining the Second Saturday Arts Stroll with a monthly Tango Hop. Argentine Tango lessons are free from 9-9:45, and they will be hosting a Tango Dance Party in their studio beginning at 9:45 ($10 admission, includes lite fare.)
The State Street Blues Stroll, sponsored by the Media Business Authority, complements Second Saturday events with 24 live music acts at 20 venues from 7pm-1am. Admission to Blues Stroll events is $25 ($20 in advance).
This month’s 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll includes 45 businesses, live music at 16 locations, and art at 18 locations including paper art, sculptures, mixed media, photography, student artwork, jewelry, watercolors, paintings, as well as the Mysterious Days of Clay, a live sculpture demonstration at Earth & State.
