This summer marks the 35th year Upper Darby Summer Stage will present live musical theater to families throughout the Delaware Valley!
The following is the Upper Darby Summer Stage 2010 season line-up:
July 14, 15, 16 at 10:30 am – July 15 at 7:30 pm
* “Magic Up our Sleeve”
A musical celebration spotlighting the greatest moments in 35 years of Summer Stage Children’s Theater performances including songs from “High School Musical,” “Peter Pan” and many more Summer Stage hits.
July 21, 22, 23 at 10:30 am – July 22 at 7:30 pm
* “Yo, Vikings!”
The world premiere children’s theater musical written by the Richard Rogers award-winning Summer Stage alumnus, Marcus Stevens, “Yo, Vikings” is a delightful musical about a courageous girl, a mysterious Viking ship, and a library - with roots right here in the Delaware Valley!
July 28, 29 30 at 10:30 am – July 29 at 7:30 pm
* “The Wizard of Oz”
The musical version of the MGM classic movie, this will be Summer Stage’s biggest “Wizard of Oz” production ever with magical special effects, sets and costumes!
August 4, 5, 6 10:30 am – August 5 at 7:30 pm
* “Captain Louie”
From the composer of Broadway’s “Wicked,” this new show will become a Summer Stage favorite. Louie has moved to a new neighborhood and to cheer himself up on Halloween night, he goes on an imaginary journey on the wings of his favorite toy, a little red plane.
August 11, 12, 13 at 10:30 am – August 12 at 7:30 pm
* “Cinderella”
The Rogers and Hammerstein TV version, starring Brandy as Cinderella, comes to life on the stage!
August 18, 19, 20 at 10:30 am – August 19 at 7:30 pm
* “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.”
All of the favorite characters including Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie from Agrabah, the City of Enchantment, are included in the stage adaptation of one of Disney’s most beloved animated adventures.
Children’s Theater: (Ticket pricing for all shows are $5 - $8. Members of the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center receive a $1 discount. All Children’s Theater shows are musicals that run from 60 to 75 minutes and are recommended for ages 4 and up. Free babysitting is provided for those too young to enjoy the show quietly.)
MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION: - (Ticket pricing for all shows are $9 - $12. Members of the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center receive a $1 discount)
August 6, 7, 13, 14 at 7:30 pm
* “West Side Story”
The Mainstage production is the timeless classic “West Side Story,” featuring music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Summer Stage rivals many professional theaters with its Mainstage shows, presented by young adults up to the age of 25, many of whom are pursuing professional careers in theater. Performances take place on August 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $9 - $12. Members receive $1 discount.
Tickets are available by calling the box office at 610.622.1189 or by visiting the website at www.udpac.org. The performances take place at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill, PA. The stadium-seated theater offers wheel-chair access and free parking.
