Junior Guide Summer Camp meeting
March 26, 2011 10 am to noon
March 26, 2011 10 am to noon
The Junior Guides are young people ages 11 to 17 who meet at the Chadds Ford Historical Society during the spring and summer months to learn about 18th century ways of life. The goal of the program is to take history out of textbooks and bring it to life.
From Memorial Day weekend though August, we meet from 1 to 4 pm, usually on Saturday afternoons. We will bake bread, cook on the open hearth, learn about colonial games, Revolutionary War life, and weaving with a tape loom. All participants are encouraged to make their reproduction colonial clothing during our sewing classes in April and May. Alternately, the necessary clothing can be purchased.
Come to the March 26th meeting at 10 to learn more. If you can't make the meeting, you are welcome to contact the office for more information. This history camp is limited to 24 participants, first come, first served.
