2012 Haverford Music Festival

The second annual Haverford Music Festival - a one day music extravaganza on September 15th in the Oakmont section of Havertown – runs from 12:00-9:30 pm and provides a musical festival for the entire family offering the unique combination of sought-after artists and musical variety – all with a local flavor. Blackthorn, the high-octane, modern Celtic band based in the Delaware Valley, and John Flynn, the revered singer/songwriter and "troubadour of justice, mercy, and hope" headline this year’s festival.
Three stages ensure continuous, non-stop music for the entire day and the festival offers artists known both locally and beyond, such as native Philadelphian Scott McClatchy, a singer/songwriter/guitarist and veteran of the New York music scene, Denise Montana, a Philly-area pop/jazz vocalist with "sass in her DNA," and the Matt Cermanski Band fresh from Phoenixville to surprise with their rock, pop, and blue-eyed soul.
Celtic Women and Friends (playing a wide range of traditional Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Breton and American tunes - with Blarney provided at no extra charge) and the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars (high-energy performance group) hail from the immediate area as do the Landsdowne String Quartet (classy classical strings) and the Philly Blues Kings - masters of the kind of hard-driving electric blues "that your mamma has warned you about."
