Darlington Preschoolers performed “Mr. Gumpy’s Outing” to celebrate the end of the school year on May 2. Students played the roles of different animals going on an adventure with Mr. Gumpy, played by drama teaching artist Lisa Eckley-Cocchiarale.

There are
still spaces available for 2013-2014 Preschool, and
Darlington is hosting an Open House on
Thursday, May 16 at 10:00am where families can see the facility, talk to
instructors, and experience how the arts can provide a strong foundation for
young learning. Registrations are currently being accepted for 1, 2, 3, and 5
day preschool this fall, for ages 3-6.
Darlington’s preschool program uniquely exposes young learners to
music, art, dance, and drama. Emphasizing creativity, imagination, exploration,
and active participation, the program helps students develop critical
comprehension and memory skills. Students benefit from multi-week units of core
curriculum developed by a certified teacher, traditional preschool activities
including circle time and outdoor play, high-quality arts-based learning
activities with professional Teaching Artists, and learning responsibility and
cooperation by working with peers.
