this weekend

September 20th, 21st, & 22nd

What to do this weekend with your family? There is so much to do for families and kids. We invite you to check out our events calendar, with many family-friendly events and things to do on the weekends and every day of the week. We constantly update our events calendar, so there is always something new and exciting to do!

A local favorite, the Fall Festival features a wide variety of historic skills and trades demonstrations, hayrides, and hands-on activities for kids of all ages! This year, the site’s archaeology festival has been incorporated into the Fall Festival, so the event will also include archaeological excavations and activities, plus displays from local historical organizations. In addition, there will be vendors of handcrafted goods in the Colonial Market, locally-made beer and wine at the Tavern, a Community Corner featuring local businesses and organizations, and food vendors. Admission to the Fall Festival is free. Parking is $5 per car.

Media borough's 1st neighborhood music festival! Get ready for an afternoon filled with live music and good vibes. (And yard sales! as this will overlap with the afternoon of the Garage Sale on Saturday.)  You'll enjoy performances from local bands and artists on porches and in yards and driveways throughout the Borough.

This festival includes a full pirate encampment with period tents, demonstrations, and a showcase of their wares, firearms, cannons, and beer making. In the Park area, we will have games, food, live pirate music, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, crafters, a beer garden, and much, much more. All funds raised during this event go towards the ongoing restoration project of the historic Plank House, aka Blackbeard's Mistress's House.
The Marcus Hook Preservation Society are the owners and caretakers of this one of a kind, hand-sawn plank log house. It is our mission and desire to restore this house to museum quality. So join us on the river in Marcus Hook---aarrrrg!

Arasapha Farm is open this year with many new additions and family fun. The corn maze has been planted and new games make it more fun than ever. Other activities include pumpkin picking. This includes a Hayride to the Corn Maze and back to the courtyard. Our picnic areas, along with other activities are available for Birthday parties, family reunions and other gatherings. Parties include a jump on the pillow bounce, pallet maze, tractor and truck playground and corn cannons.

On September 22nd we are hosting our annual Community Day at the Upper Chichester Municipal Complex. Join us for live music, food, bounce houses, face painting, vendors, contests, a parade, and tons of prizes!!!

We will sell mums, pumpkins, fall decor, baked table goods, food, raffles, and Grandpa's Attic (gently used treasures). We will have kids' face painting and crafts. The deacons will hold a free clothing giveaway.

Linvilla Orchard's famous Hayride to the Witches’ House is a hayride where you can visit the friendly Witches’ House in the woods. The witch tells stories and jokes and gives all of the kids a treat. The hayride ends at a campfire, where you receive a sample of apple cider and marshmallows to roast.

Join Thomas the Tank Engine™, a full-sized operating steam locomotive, as he greets friends of all ages. Thomas and his friends return to the Strasburg Rail Road in 2024!

Thomas the Tank Engine — the famous steam locomotive from the Island of Sodor — will pull your 45-minute excursion ride (4.5 miles east and 4.5 miles returning west on the same track) through the beautiful Lancaster County countryside.

An annual trip to Pumpkinland has been a family tradition for generations of Delaware Valley Residents. During the months of September and October, Pumpkinland takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger-than-life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, local history, and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.

Teens and Tweens will enjoy The Bates Motel & Haunted Hayride, which has been voted the #1 haunt in the country and has been featured on the Travel Channel.

Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire at Mount Hope Estate. Guests can experience themed entertainment, food,  contests, and activities. Tickets should be purchased online in advance to guarantee admission.

Children of all ages are welcome to sit and listen, ask questions, doodle, draw, paste, and color to their heart's content. (Accompanying adults are also welcome to get involved!)

The Philadelphia Museum of Art guests can pay what they wish for admission every Friday evening and the first Sunday of the month. Reservations are required.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park have adventures behind every corner. They are the ultimate indoor playground for your entire family. Take your kids' birthday party to the next level or spend a day of fun with the family, and you'll see why we're more than just a trampoline park.
