2024 Fireworks and 4th of July Celebrations in Delaware County and the Philadelphia Area

Below is a list of parades, events, and fireworks in the Delaware County area. Don't forget the Wawa Welcome America celebration in Philadelphia that includes a parade on July 4th, concerts, and outdoor movies. Click here for the calendar of events in Philadelphia.

Wednesday, July 3rd

FREE Independence Day Fireworks!
Upper Darby will host a free fireworks display at 9pm/dusk at 69th Street Recreation Area. This is free and open to all. 


The Bethel Township Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting its Annual Fireworks display on July 3rd at Bethel Springs Elementary School. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the event and are reminded that no alcoholic beverages or smoking are permitted. The display is set to begin at dusk. Rain date 7/5.



Thursday, July 4th

Aston 
Independence Day Celebration will be on July 4th, behind Sun Valley High School.  Fireworks begin around 9:30pm.



The parade starts at 10 am, and fireworks on July 6th at 9:30.


Celebrate the nation's birthday at the farm! Join the debate between Patriots, Loyalists, and Quakers as they all confront independence and help decide the true loyalty of the farm. Meet Martha Washington, make a demonstration against the king, hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and show your loyalty by signing the Declaration. Ongoing activities at the farm include hearth cooking, quill writing, gardening, textiles, meeting the animals, and more!

Join us for our 4th of July parade, moonbounces, face painting, food, music, and other activities for the whole family. We will also have the brand new Glenolden Golden Golf pop-up mini golf course, which supports local independent businesses and organizations. 

Come out and watch the parade on July 4th, starting at 10 AM. The parade starts at St. Alban's Circle in Newtown Square and travels down West Chester Pike to the Broomall Fire Company.


10 AM – 12 PM @ Barrall Field
The Media Recreation Board's 4th of July Celebration at Barrall Field is a longstanding tradition in Media Borough! From 10 AM to 12PM, there will be Water slides, face painting, wagon rides, a bike-decorating contest, yard games, music, and treats!

The parade begins at 10am at the Rosemont Business Campus and will follow the previously used route through our community.


Thornbury Township
Thornbury will hold its Annual Fourth of July Parade on July 4th. The parade will take place along Glen Mills Road to Thornbury Park. There will be refreshments and games at the park. Formation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and the Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.


Celebrate America’s birthday with everyone’s favorite furry friends. Visit Photos with Elmo & Friends to take a patriotic photo with Elmo in his red, white & blue attire! On Monday, be sure to stick around for an impressive display of fireworks!

Fireworks will begin at 9:00PM.


Saturday, July 6th

Celebrate Independence Day with a parade, car show, and games.
Later in the day, join us for the best fireworks in DELCO! Starting at Dusk at Eastlake Park.
